Provo Real Estate Market Conditions

The real estate market of Provo Utah dropped it sales for the month of March this year by 9.26%. A total of 49 houses were sold in March this year compared to 54 total sold houses a year ago.

7.52% was the decreased in the prices of homes seen in this month. Original list price was $173,000 and median sold price was $154,900 from last year’s median sold price of $167,500 and original list price of $189,400.

Provo homes have a median dollar per square foot price of $82.44. Half of these homes sold were bigger than 1,865 square feet. The average home comprises of three bedrooms and two baths.

Provo total active listings in the market were 423. Under contract listings were 133.

During the month of January 2012, Provo area sales decreased 35.42% with a total of 31 residential homes sold as reported by the Provo MLS. In the same month last year, total residential homes sold were 48.

Additionally, the prices of homes also declined 5.37% from a median sold price of $157,450 and an original list price of $171,400 to a median sold price of $149,000 and an original list price of $155,000.

Each square foot of residential home went sold in January this year cost approximately $79.09. The median square feet size of these homes was 1,884. Typically, the home sold have four bedrooms and three baths.

There are at present a total of 409 homes in Provo for sale. A total of 109 homes are listed in the market as under contract.

The month of August 2011 home sale for Provo Utah real estate slightly dropped 5.88% with a total of 64 houses sold. Number of houses sold in the same period last year was 68.

Year over year prices of homes are also still down from August 2010 median sold price of $175,000 and original list price of $185,400 to the same month this year’s median sold price of $162,650 and original list price of $174,900. Sales price decline by 7.06%.

Median dollar per square foot price of homes sold in August this year was at $82.85. Half of the houses sold were bigger than 2,006 square feet. The typical of these homes sold includes three bedrooms and three baths.

Of the 526 total houses for sale in the real estate market of Provo today, 112 were under contract properties. Last month, 575 houses are listed for sale and 94 were listed under contract.

Sales statistics for the month of July this year in Provo Utah real estate has gone down 17.31% from the previous year. Number of residential units sold decrease from a total of 52 last year to a total of 43 this year.

Unit prices are still down from a year ago’s median sold price of $173,500 and original list price of $185,000 to this year’s median sold price of $161,000 and original list price of $174,900. Read more »

Provo Utah home sales were down 36.05 percent in May 2011 with 55 residential homes sold from 86 total residential homes sold in the same time last year.

Year over year prices of homes also decrease 9.44 percent from May 2010 median sold price of $169,500 and original list price of $183,900 to the same month this year’s median sold price of $153,500 and original list price of $179,900. Read more »

The Provo Utah real estate market decreased its sales 10.94 percent from April 2010 total houses sold of 64 to this year’s total of 57 sold houses. In April 2010, houses had an original list price of $182,400 and median sold price of $170,950, this is a 0.56 percent decrease when compared to the original list price of $194,900 and median sold price of $170,000 in April this year. In March 2011, around 54 units were sold in Provo Utah real estate market having an original list price of $189,400. This is a dropped of 10 percent compared to a year ago’s total units sold of 60 having an original list price of $194,900. Median sold price were also down 9.46 percent from $185,000 to $167,500. Provo home sales were slightly down 4.88 percent in February 2011 with 39 total properties sold compared to the same month in 2010 with a total of 41 properties sold.

Prices of properties also dipped 6.48 percent year over year. During February 2010 properties median sold price was $179,900 and original list price was $189,900. In the same month this year, median sold price of properties was at $168,250 and original list price was $185,000. Read more »

With 48 properties sold in the month of January 2011, Provo home sales increase by 27.08 percent over January of last year total properties sold of 35. As number of home sales increase, prices of Provo homes dropped 17.99 percent from January 2010 median sold price of $192,000 to the same month this year’s median sold price of $157,450.
