Provo Home January Sales and Prices are both Down

During the month of January 2012, Provo area sales decreased 35.42% with a total of 31 residential homes sold as reported by the Provo MLS. In the same month last year, total residential homes sold were 48.
Additionally, the prices of homes also declined 5.37% from a median sold price of $157,450 and an original list price of $171,400 to a median sold price of $149,000 and an original list price of $155,000.
Each square foot of residential home went sold in January this year cost approximately $79.09. The median square feet size of these homes was 1,884. Typically, the home sold have four bedrooms and three baths.
There are at present a total of 409 homes in Provo for sale. A total of 109 homes are listed in the market as under contract.
