The real estate market of Provo Utah dropped it sales for the month of March this year by 9.26%. A total of 49 houses were sold in March this year compared to 54 total sold houses a year ago.

7.52% was the decreased in the prices of homes seen in this month. Original list price was $173,000 and median sold price was $154,900 from last year’s median sold price of $167,500 and original list price of $189,400.

Provo homes have a median dollar per square foot price of $82.44. Half of these homes sold were bigger than 1,865 square feet. The average home comprises of three bedrooms and two baths.

Provo total active listings in the market were 423. Under contract listings were 133.

During the month of January 2012, Provo area sales decreased 35.42% with a total of 31 residential homes sold as reported by the Provo MLS. In the same month last year, total residential homes sold were 48.

Additionally, the prices of homes also declined 5.37% from a median sold price of $157,450 and an original list price of $171,400 to a median sold price of $149,000 and an original list price of $155,000.
